OUR WORK

See Some of Our Creations

At CIPMS 5th & 6th Grade ART, we believe the work we do with our students speaks for itself. It tells the story of who we are and the teaching approach we take. In the style of showing and not telling, go ahead, see for yourself.

#PATHTOPOSSIBLE INSTALLATIONS

A COLLABORATIVE CHARTER SCHOOL EXHIBIT

This year, New York City’s charter schools have hit an important milestone: 100,000 students enrolled in charter schools. The march on September 28th will mark this occasion by celebrating students who are on the path to possible. Thanks to their public charter school, these students are:

â—‹ Achieving academic excellence

â—‹ On a path to career and economic success

â—‹ Proving that zip code does not determine destiny

There will be 2 visual representations of POSSIBLE on the event grounds, featuring artwork and quotes from students, including work from our students here at CIPMS. Our 5th graders worked very hard on the art they created for this exhibition. Here is a preview of some of their work, which showcases their proudest moments and accomplishments here at CIPMS! Enjoy!

PERSONALITY SPECTRUM

Similar to the color wheel our personalities have a variety of colors, shades, and temperatures. CIPMS 5th and 6th graders explored the spectrum of their personalities, while also learning the primary and secondary colors of the color wheel and learning it's significance in science since the same colors are found in light passing a prism. Through this piece of art, scholars also explored techniques to write on curved lines and stretch their words for more emphasis. They were also able to discover and play with space and lines.

MICROGRAPHY SELF PORTRAIT

"A Visual Affirmation of Our Best Selves"

Micrography is a picture or image made by writing in very small characters, letters, or words.

Our scholars chose positive words, characteristics, affirmations, personal goals, and dreams to create these self portraits that express the best of who each of them are!

Here are some micrography portraits that have been completed thus far!!

5TH GRADE DESERVES A

SHOUT OUT!!

I have to shout out our 5th Grade scholars. They have worked so hard EVERY SINGLE DAY on their micrography portraits. As you can see above, the results have been spectacular!! Our 5th grade scholars are always so excited to learn new skills and techniques in Art. Even if the task is challenging; they never give up! In fact, they try harder!!! They are always respectful, focused, hardworking, determined, kind, and professional. They are a very intelligent and talented bunch!!
