THE
History

In honor of Black History Month, our scholars have been learning about some of our African American heroes in art class, such as: Harriet Tubman, Ruby Bridges, The Little Rock Nine, The Freedom Riders, George Washington Carver, Dr. Mae Jemison, Booker T. Washington, Thurgood Marshall, and Esperanza Spalding. Our scholars are using their math and art skills to create beautiful Kente Paper Weavings that will feature an African American historical figure in order to honor our African American Heroes, to show pride in this history, and to get inspiration from these heroes' commitment, bravery, compassion, sacrifices, & accomplishments.

PRIDE
DAY
Our scholars have been hard at work preparing for the ELA state exam. As a reward, the scholars that show the most effort during the day get to participate in PRIDE reward rooms, featuring extra gym time, free/fun time, games, painting, and drawing! Enjoy photos of some of our hardest working scholars enjoying some extra art time!
